Gurus:
- Started Bharatanatyam training with the legendary Kamala at
age five. Had her arangetram (stage debut) at age eight.
- Continued her advanced training with the great singer and dance
teacher, Kalaimamani Swamimalai Rajaratnam.
- Has been learning Kuchipudi from the renowned guru Dr. Vempati Chinna
Satyam since age ten.
- Carnatic music training from Sangeetha Kalanidhi B. Rajam Iyer and
Dr. S. R. Janakiraman.

- Bharatanatyam Recital at Madras Music Academy, 1993.
- Ustad Allaudin Khan Ghungroo Festival in Bhopal.
- Inaugural of Kalidas Samaroh in Ujjain. Choreographed and performed
Kalidasa's Ritu Samhar
- Kuchipudi Recital at Madras Music Academy, 1987.
- Sangeet Natak Academy's Yuva Utsav Festival in Kanpur.
- Numerous National Programmes on Doordarshan Indian Television.
International Tours:
- 1995, Finland, Estonia: Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam tour
and workshops. performed at the Savoy theatre in Helsinki in honor
of Mahatma Gandhi's 125th birth anniversary.
- 1992, USA, Canada: Lead dancer in the International Dance
Alliance's Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum.
- 1987, Malaysia: Inaugural Event of World Tamil Conference.
- 1987, USSR: Solo tour as part of Festival of India in USSR.
- 1987, Phillipines: Solo performances at Manila.
- 1986, USA: Solo Kuchipudi tour and month-long training workshop.
- 1984, USA: Toured with Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam's troupe. Portrayed
Srinivasa in Srinivasa Kalyanam and Krishna in
Rukmini Kalyanam.
- 1984, USSR: First Kuchipudi dancer to tour the former Soviet Union.

- Master-Apprentice Fellowship from Illinois
Arts Council to impart advanced training in Kuchipudi dance to student Sangita
Rangala, 1997-98.
- North Carolina Arts Council Fellowship Award for Choreography, 1995.
- Durham Arts Council Performers Award, 1994.
- Natanamamani from Kartik Fine Arts, Madras, 1994.
- Yuva Kala Bharati from Bharat Kalachar, Madras, 1992.
- Top Artiste grading from Indian National Television.
Other:
- Co-Founder of Nrityaranga, a dance cooperative devoted to
the encouragement of young dancers.
- Founder-Director of Samskriti, a non-profit foundation
for the promotion of Indian culture, dance, and music.
