Location of the Ralph Waldo Emerson Inn

Attendance at the workshop is by invitation only, and invitations are normally given only to presenters and organizers.

The Ralph Waldo Emerson Inn is in Pigeon Cove, a section of Rockport, on the Massachusetts coastline north of Boston. Rockport can be reached by automobile from Boston by taking Route 93 or Route 1 north to Route 128, and following Route 128 north to the intersection with Route 127 at a traffic light (not a circle) in Gloucester. Go left onto Route 127 and follow it about three miles north to a five-way intersection where 127 goes left and 127A goes right. The Emerson Inn is about two miles farther on 127, just off Phillips Ave. You may also go right onto 127A; this takes you to the Bearskin Neck artist colony. Take a left (off 127A) at the next T intersection and follow the coastline north to rejoin 127 and reach the Inn. There is a map below. The phone number of the Inn is 978-546-6321.

There is a commuter rail station about a mile from the Inn. Trains on the Rockport line leave from North Station in Boston; the schedule is available at the MBTA site. If you take the train, let me know when you arrive in Rockport and I'll pick you up at the station. I can also help match schedules for those who wish to share rental cars.
