Abstract

Software development may be significantly aided by the reuse of existing components. This dissertation shows how an idea from the functional programming reuse area - signature matching - may be applied to Ada '83. Various flavours of relaxed matches are presented, and a prototype implementation in prolog is described. The application of the system to some example queries is shown, and proposals for extending the range of the matches are given.
