Non-SunOS Systems: With this release of NIDES, you may also use non-Sun hosts as targets by using the audit data customization facility provided with the NIDES release. The configuration of non-Sun targets will depend upon the amount of audit data produced and the processing overhead associated with the audit data collection mechanisms. To monitor non-Sun targets in real time, the host must support TCP/IP and have a connection to the NIDES host to support data transfer.
