ACL/TCL File Handling

The handling of ACL/TCL files by Anetd depends on whether Anetd is running as an ABone node or standalone.

If Anetd is running as an ABone node (see also section 3.1), it will first try to fetch from an ABOCC server the current master ACL/TCL files0 for the ABone account under which it is run, replacing the existing master ACL/TCL files stored locally on the node. If Anetd fails to fetch any master ACL/TCL file from all configured ABOCC servers, it will use its existing local copies of the master ACL/TCL files, if present. After downloading, Anetd reads first all available master ACL/TCL files, followed by all available local ACL/TCL files.

If Anetd is running standalone, by default no master ACL or TCL file is fetched from the net, and Anetd reads first all locally available master ACL/TCL files, followed by all available local ACL/TCL files.

Whether or not Anetd is running in an ABone configuration, if no *ACL* files (master or local) are available Anetd exits with an error.
